Black Friday falls on Friday, November 27, 2026, the day after U.S. Thanksgiving (November 26). Cyber Monday follows on November 30. For affiliate marketers, the weekend is less about one viral post and more about having useful, accurate, findable content in place before shoppers start searching—and keeping it accurate while prices change by the hour.
This plan assumes you have a few hours a week. Adjust it to your schedule; skipping a week is fine if you protect the last two.
Early October: choose your lane
- Pick one or two categories you already cover. Holiday traffic rewards relevance. A new site writing “best deals on everything” competes with very large publishers; a creator who reviews home espresso gear can be genuinely useful about espresso deals.
- Check program terms now. Some programs change commission rates, restrict coupon or deal sites, or limit paid traffic during peak season. Confirm what’s allowed for your channel and note the date you checked.
- List the questions people ask in November. “Is this a real discount?”, “Which model should I buy as a gift?”, “Will it arrive before the holidays?” These make better content than a list of links.
Mid-October: build the evergreen pages
Create (or refresh) the pages that will still be useful if every deal changes: gift guides by budget or recipient, a buyer’s guide comparing the models people actually choose between, and a short “how to judge a holiday deal” explainer. Publishing these early gives search engines and your audience time to find them.
Late October: prepare your channels
- Email: tell subscribers what you’ll send and when. A short “I’ll send one useful deals note on Black Friday morning” sets expectations and protects trust.
- Social and video: batch evergreen pieces (setup tips, comparisons, gift ideas) so November can be spent updating, not inventing.
- Tracking: make sure each channel uses a program-supported tracking ID so you can see what actually worked afterward.
Early November: test everything
Click every important link on mobile. Confirm destinations, tracking, and that your disclosures appear near the recommendation (and inside videos, not only in descriptions). Run the 20-minute link audit on your top pages.
Thanksgiving week: update, don’t pile on
- Update prices and availability on your key pages, with the time you checked. Prices can change quickly; never promise a “lowest price” you can’t verify.
- Follow each program’s rules on how prices and deal claims may be displayed.
- Send the one email you promised. Make it scannable and honest about what you have and haven’t tested.
- Keep a simple log: what you published, when, and which links you changed.
The week after: learn from it
Record clicks, attributed orders, and pending commissions for the period—remembering that holiday returns can reverse some of them later. Note which pages and channels were useful, and save your notes for next year. The best Black Friday plan is usually last year’s plan, improved.
