How affiliate marketers can get brand deals

Pitch a useful piece of work, a relevant audience, and a clear business arrangement.

A brand deal is a negotiated collaboration. Affiliate performance can help demonstrate fit, but a creator can also offer strong production, a specialist audience, or a useful educational concept. Your proposal should make the value understandable without inflated numbers.

Choose brands for a reason

Build a short list of products that already belong in your content. Read the brand’s creator or partnership page. Identify an audience question the brand is not explaining well, then outline something you could make. A tailored idea is more persuasive than the same generic message sent to a hundred companies.

Reach out through the official partnership route or an appropriately verified business contact. This article provides preparation guidance; it does not send outreach or enroll you in any program.

Create a concise media kit

Include your audience, content promise, strongest examples, relevant platform metrics with dates, contact details, and the types of work you offer. Distinguish total followers from average views, and views from sales. Label independent concepts accurately.

For affiliate results, show the program’s approved figures you have permission to share. Explain the reporting period and attribution limits. Do not present a merchant’s total order value as your own earnings.

Use a simple pitch structure

I create [type of content] for [specific audience]. Your [product] could help with [specific task]. I’d like to propose [deliverables] showing [useful outcome]. Here are two relevant examples: [links]. My audience data for [period] is [accurate evidence]. Are you considering paid creator collaborations for this topic?

Customize the idea and replace every bracket with accurate information. This is an adaptable structure, not a promise that a pitch will be accepted.

Separate production, distribution, and rights

Creating a video, posting it to your audience, allowing a brand to run it as an ad, and granting exclusivity are different forms of value. Discuss them separately. Ask about the usage period, channels, editing rights, revisions, approval timing, cancellation, and payment schedule.

A hybrid fee-plus-commission arrangement can compensate production while rewarding performance. It is a negotiated option, not a standard entitlement. Avoid offering unlimited revisions or perpetual usage by accident. Seek appropriate professional advice for material contract commitments.

Make the first collaboration easy to evaluate

Agree on the deliverables and success measures before producing. Share a concise report with what was delivered, the observed response, attributed outcomes if available, and recommendations for another test. Reliability and clear communication can be valuable reasons to work together again.
